Privacy

GameShack is a small hobby project, not a business — so this is a short, plain-language page rather than a legal document.

What we collect

Ringlet and Wordslide don't require an account and don't collect any personal information — just show up and play.

Rummy and VerbaTile ask for an email address to create an account. That's it — no password, no name, no other personal details. Your email is used only to identify your account (for things like saving your stats or letting you log back in) and is never sold, shared, or used for marketing.

A GameShack account lets you sign in once for all GameShack games. It stores your email address and a display name you choose. Other players only ever see your display name, never your email. Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your email, so there's no password to remember, and your browser keeps a small sign-in cookie for gameshack.org so you stay signed in across the games. It lasts until you sign out, or 7 days after your last visit. You can change your display name or delete your account at any time from your account page.

When you email a friend a Duelexic invite, their address is used only to send that one email. We keep a shortened hint of it (like da•••@example.com) so you can tell your invites apart, plus any note you add. Both are deleted 30 days after the invite is used, cancelled, or expires.

Server logs

Like any website, basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) are recorded automatically by the server and Cloudflare for security and reliability purposes. We don't use any analytics or advertising trackers, and nothing is tied together to build a profile of you.
